This scenic coastal hike starts at Praia da Areia Branca, a beautiful sandy beach with a relaxed vibe. Along the way, you’ll pass hidden coves and dramatic rock formations shaped by the sea and wind.
The trail leads to Paimogo Fort, a 17th-century fortress with historical significance and breathtaking views over the bay. It’s a perfect spot for a break, where you can soak in the scenery and enjoy a picnic. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some fossilized dinosaur footprints in the surrounding cliffs—Lourinhã is known as Portugal’s “Dinosaur Capital”!
After exploring the area, head back along the same route or extend your hike by continuing toward Praia do Caniçal, a quieter, more secluded beach.
